ABOUT LONE OAK
Built From a Love of Horses
Lone Oak Riding Stables grew from a lifelong love of horses and a belief that riding is about more than what happens in the saddle. It’s a place to learn, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of the horse beneath you.
OUR STORY
How It Started
Meet Jalaina, owner and instructor at Lone Oak Riding Stables. Her love of horses started when she was just a child. Growing up, owning a horse wasn’t financially possible for her family, but that never diminished her passion and determination to make horses part of her life.
She moved to California in 2011 to pursue a degree in Equine Science and began building her career from the ground up. Jalaina worked her way from stable hand to barn manager and eventually riding instructor, gaining hands-on experience with horses, riders, and the day-to-day life of a working barn.
In 2023, she achieved her goal of owning her own riding and training facility, Lone Oak Riding Stables – a place where she could bring together her experience, her approach to natural horsemanship, and her love of teaching. Her true passion is helping people discover the incredible bond that can grow between horse and human.

HER APPROACH
Building a Partnership With the Horse
Jalaina’s approach is rooted in natural horsemanship and the belief that good riding begins with understanding the horse. Riders learn to pay attention to how horses communicate, how their own actions affect the horse, and how trust and clear communication can create a stronger partnership.
That philosophy carries into her teaching. Rather than focusing solely on riding technique, Jalaina encourages riders to understand the why behind what they’re doing and to become thoughtful, capable horsepeople.
WHY SHE TEACHES
Helping Riders Grow Beyond the Saddle
For Jalaina, teaching is about more than helping someone become a better rider. It’s about building confidence, learning responsibility, solving problems, and discovering what they’re capable of through working with horses.
Jalaina meets each student where they are, helping first-time riders and experienced equestrians alike grow at their own pace.
LIFE AT LONE OAK
There’s Something About This Place
Lone Oak has a quietness that’s hard to describe until you’re here. Horses greet you with a whinny, while hawks, ravens, and other birds fill the trees and sky. In spring, the hills turn green and nearly every bush on the property seems to burst into bloom.
Things here are informal and friendly. There’s usually time for conversation, and Jalaina brings plenty of smiles and energy to the barn. But when it comes to horses and riders, safety always comes first. Knowing when to laugh and when to get serious is simply part of life at Lone Oak.
