Riding Lessons
Find Your Seat. Find Your Connection.
Private riding lessons for children and adults, first-time riders through experienced equestrians. Learn to ride, better understand horses, and build confidence in the saddle.
THE LONE OAK APPROACH
More Than Time in the Saddle
Every lesson is about more than learning to ride. You’ll build practical horsemanship skills, learn to communicate with horses, and develop confidence through hands-on experience in and around the saddle.
INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION
Lessons are tailored to each rider’s experience, goals, abilities, and comfort level.
HORSEMANSHIP
Learn to understand your horse, build communication, and develop a stronger partnership.
CONFIDENCE & SAFETY
Develop skills at a comfortable pace while learning safe, thoughtful habits around horses.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A Lesson Built Around You
No two riders are exactly alike, and neither are their lessons. Each one-hour private lesson is tailored to the rider’s age, experience, goals, and comfort level. Beginners can focus on building confidence, balance and foundational riding skills, while more experienced riders can work on refining technique and progressing toward specific goals.
Along the way, riders may also learn age and experience appropriate horse care and horsemanship skills. Grooming, groundwork, and other hands-on skills can be incorporated when they support the rider’s learning and goals.
ENGLISH & WESTERN
Choose a Riding Style That Fits You
Lone Oak offers private instruction in both English and Western riding, emphasizing strong fundamentals, thoughtful horsemanship, and clear communication between horse and rider. Lessons are shaped around each rider’s experience, interests, and goals at every skill level.
RIDERS OF ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS
There’s a Place for You in the Saddle
Riding lessons are available for children and adults ages 6–99 (and beyond), including first-time riders and those with years of experience. You don’t need to own a horse or have any previous riding experience to get started.
New riders can learn at a comfortable pace while developing a solid foundation, and experienced riders can continue building their skills with instruction tailored to their individual goals.
